Professional introductions always feel conceited.
I would rather let my experience speak for itself.
I first started IT at a gaming and internet cafe after high school. I now have over fifteen years experience working professionally in IT. High-school years of tinkering with computers as passion projects has led to a very productive career in technology. I have excellent written and verbal communications in English, and a touch typing rate of about 85 words per minute with 99% accuracy.

Professional Life
I am looking for a role with a company with a reputable culture of remote work, where I get to work with a team of people who are also passionate about computers and the internet and modern technology – but also a role that has interesting and challenging work for the right reasons.
Micron21 Data Centre
Product and Cyber Security Manager
August 2021 – PRESENT
In 2021 my experience at Micron21 was formally recognised with a title and corresponding responsibilities. My greatest achievement at Micron21 is building and maintaining an ISO 27001 certified information security management system that has driven significant growth in the business. I also relish in the full-stack applications we had built under my management which integrate full CI/CD pipelines for automated code testing with docker containers and stable version control. I had a hand in the development, deployment and maintenance of nearly all of the systems and applications running at Micron21.
Responsibilities included product ownership of key systems and applications, such as our CRMs and databases, website, Hosted Gitlab development platform, Asterisk phone system, sales tender writing, information security and governance management, lead internal auditor, escalation point for internal IT issues, and managing a small IT security team.
Data Centre Solutions Engineer
March 2016 – August 2021
Since 2016 I have worked for Micron21 performing a number of roles without changing my title. Due to Micron21 being a small business, my day-to-day work required adaptability and the ability to work on multiple tasks at once. I operated in all areas of the business, representing Micron21 at security conventions, in sales meetings, and as the liaison between executive leadership and auditing bodies for information and cyber security matters, all whilst filling in as a support analyst on the phones when required.
Responsibilities included just about everything you can think of in any IT operation – acquisition of new hardware for our own infrastructure, pre-sales and sales, solutions engineering, systems design, setups, consulting, and technical support for customers and internal users.

Projects require coffee and hydration.
iiNet Limited
Customer Service Manager
July 2013 – March 2016
iiNet’s Domains and Hosting revenue was expanding, and it’s support team needed to grow to keep up. This opportunity was presented to me, and I was given the provisional title of “Acting” until the team was up and running. Under my management, It took 10 months to double the Domains and Hosting team’s capacity, increase the operating hours, and increase customer satisfaction measured by NPS. I ran this team for almost 3 years constantly achieving some of the company’s highest customer satisfaction, until TPG took over iiNet and middle and upper management were retrenched or made redundant.
Responsibilities included team management, escalations for customers for both high value clients and technical matters, and working with our corporate team of developers for acquisitions of other companies and new technology.
Customer Service Representative
February 2010 – July 2013
I started at iiNet in 2010, when I first moved to Perth to start a career in IT. At the time, I had no professional training or experience other than at an internet cafe. I quickly found that my natural affinity for computers and people meant that I excelled in a call center environment, which lead to advancement opportunities within iiNet. I was made a “Senior” member in short order, and was transferred to the business department not long afterwards – a section that iiNet was aiming to grow and expand into, and so wanted their most skilled employees working there. The people I worked with at iiNet were some of the best people I’ve ever worked with, and the manager I worked for gave me a great opportunity – In late 2012 I was charged with expanding the Perth Domains and Hosting team operation by standing up a new team in Melbourne.
Responsibilities included customer service activities, such as answering phones and emails, adherence to call center KPIs, which included attendance and customer satisfaction.

CI/CD for Mission Critical Apps
When I first started at Micron21, my desk was next to our in-house developer. He was charged with building and maintaining the web applications we used, such as our CRM and some of our customer facing tools. When he left, I was charged with picking up the knowledge and ownership of these systems because of…

ISO/IEC 27001
In 2017 I helped Micron21 achieve it’s first security certification – the ISO 27001 Information Security Management System was built from the ground up with guidance from a 3rd party technical sponsor, and a lot of late nights reading and writing. That system started out as a confluence space with only a few pages, a…
Personal Life
It’s not all about work. There’s plenty of time for play
This is still a work-in-progress. It’s hard to summarise a life in one page.
Not to mention living a social life, loving my partner, my friends, and my cat. Making a podcast about film. Running and playing tabletop RPGs. Helping people in online exchanges like Reddit, Stack Overflow, Discord, and other forums. Gardening. Going to shows – theatre, concerts, cinema, comedy, you name it! I have a lot of different things that I enjoy in my life, and I do not want my work to be a detractor from them. No-one wants to be talking to someone, ask about work, and only hear negative stories.

In summary, I’m an IT professional who is looking for a company that is the right fit for me. If this page has put you off, then we were probably not a good match in the first place.
I have a lot of experience and skills to offer, and a short list of very reasonable requests in return.
